Overall management of the project and communication with the EC.

Objectives: Identify, characterise and culture strains for microbiome therapeutics. Engineer microbial production of narrow spectrum antimicrobials for microbiome modulation. Engineer microbiota-residential bacterial strains for in situ production of health-beneficial compounds or degradation of harmful compounds. Validate best candidate strains based in vitro and ex vivo platforms such as artificial gut systems and stem cell derived mini gut systems.

Objectives: To provide to all 15 ESRs involved a structured, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral training program, supporting and supplementing activities in the research projects. The main objectives are to solve cross-disciplinary problems, and provide network-wide, local and external training to the ESRs, including secondments to partners in academia and industrial sectors, workshops, summer schools, and dissemination and outreach activities.
